Hatha Flow is designed to bring awareness into the mind and body by focusing on breath and posture alignment. The Sanskrit word “hatha” can be translated in English in two different ways: as “willful” or “forceful,” or as “sun” (ha) and “moon” (tha). Together, hatha yoga can be described as a set of active practices that aim to achieve harmony and balance in the mind, body, and spirit. Hatha yoga is a great way to build a foundation for your yoga practice.

Each class has a focus on breath and posture, inviting greater openness in the body. Movement can be slower than in a vinyasa class, yet stillness in each asana (pose) requires mental and physical strength.  A balance between effort and surrender.  Classes may vary to incorporate elements of restorative, yin poses and mindful breathwork all accompanied by a relaxing soundtrack.

About Larissa

IMG-7027 (2)Larissa is a London-based yoga teacher who has been teaching regular classes since 2019. She experienced her first yoga class fifteen years ago at the Sivananda Yoga Centre. Her style of yoga combines elements of her favourite practices: hatha, yin, restorative, and qigong.

Having felt the huge benefits of regular practice, mentally and physically, she completed a 200hr Anusara training with Bridget Woods Kramer. The word Anusara means “flow with grace,” and is a form of Hatha yoga with a strong focus on alignment.

Since then, Larissa has studied with various teachers such as Sarah LoMimi Kuo-Deemer and Anna Ashby.

Larissa is a sensitive, down-to-earth teacher, and strives to make her classes inclusive and welcoming to everyone.
